Oh that's a shame Trev. I don’t know if photobucket is any better. So far none of my images have been refused or done a bunk from there and I do have quite a lot uploaded, including BayWeb graphics.

I have never been a fan of these remote picture sites because they seem to be able to do what they like with pictures posted on them. I am in the fortunate position of having my own server space so I just use that.
The Bayweb website seems to have stopped growing at the moment but once it is up and running, it should be able to generate some revenue from advertising and pay for its own server space and upload area. I must confess that I am not helping to promote the website as I said I would, I promised to drop a poster into the York Hotel ages ago but I still haven't done it. I only pass the York in the morning before they open so haven't had a chance.

We won't be able to generate revenue Keith because we are a freebie by virtue of the Google ads which pay for the existence of the board. I chose this type of board because I did not know how popular it would be and didn't want to end up with a situation I have seen others in where they cannot afford to keep running at a loss.
We could add an upload of photos facility here but that would incurr costs and the more we upload the more it would cost.

Are the number of pics you can put on Photo bucket almost unlimited. By the way I have now reinstated all the pictures on these 5 pages. What a marathon task. I will look at the other threads that I have pics on starting later tonight. I am not going to do all the Quiz pics though. I don't think many people will need to refer back to them. Cheers. Trev..

I'm really getting to be 'Part of the furniture' now. I was going to do this post tomorrow, but I have time spare tonight. I think I may have mentioned that I have / had a heart problem. As far as I know I am OK now but have to go to the Paphos General hospital for repeat prescriptions from the consultant Heart Doctor. I went there today and it was quite crowded and busy. Some people call it a 'cattle market' but I don't find it too bad as long as you don't mind waiting and queuing. You then make your way to the main consulting rooms which are where you wait your turn, and if you are lucky you get a chair to sit on....... When you have seen the doctor you will have a page filled in in your prescription book. You then take this to the hospitals pharmacy and queue again to get all your medicines....... So after a few hours you can go home for a well earned cup of tea. Nt nt all. It's Trev..

Crikey that's even worse than when I go to see my eye specialist! I have fun and games queueing for different departments there. Never know what time I'm likely to get home. It's quite funny because they provide magazines to read which it's impossible to read once you've had the eye drops put in! ;D
Did you get a sit down?

Hi all. Well here I am again. Not a lot new happening here apart from the weather. We have had quite a lot of rain, together with hail and thunder and lightening. It makes a change for here. Today has been a little cold in the hills although we have had plenty of Sun and blue skies. We have been down to Paphos town to do some shopping and to fill up with petrol. That has started to creep up again now. It was about 75euro cents but now it has risen to 77.5 euro cents which is about 75 pence, english. What I can't understand is your heating oil is cheaper than here. We got some last week at about 54UK pence. Maybe it is to do with the taxes As I said there were sunny skies in Paphos and I was in my short sleeved shirt. I took some more pictures for no other reason than I like to, so here they are.... You will see that although it was about 12-30 lunchtime it was very very quiet. I think that many business are struggling and not expecting a good season in 2009, because of the financial problems in the world. On the Left hand side of the second picture is a board with the price of a pint of beer, €1-50. That is about £1-40 in english. Best wishes. Trev..

Those tree look a bit weather beaten on that third photo, but it certainly looks a lot warmer and sunnier than here.

Well just to prove that it's not all sunshine here, it is absolutely pouring down with thunder and lightening. And the forecast for the next few days is rain and more rain. The picture below is from a web cam in a higher suburb of Paphos, and you will see how the rainwater is flowing down the road. The hills (if you can see them) at the top of the picture are the general area where we live. Cheers. Trev..

I thought your weather was faiirly sunny tghe whole year through. I am hoping that the weather is fine here tomorrow as the RNLI have a fund raiser where some of the lifeboat crew are swimming from the stone jetty to the lifeboat station and we wouldn't want them to get wet would we. I am hoping to get some pictures but I may be otherwise occupied so will have to wait and see.

I certainly share your hope that the RNLI have a fine day. They could have done with a bit warmer weather. In fact I am surprised that they didn't hold the event a little later in the year. However I hope things go well as I have a friend from the past who is a lifeboat man at Morecambe Re the weather here always being sunny.... That seems to be how it is portrayed, but I think they stretch the truth a bit. Certainly in summer we can go for 3 or 4 month without seeing a drop of rain. Here are two more pictures here that have been taken in the Troodos mountains today. The police still have the roads open but at the highest area they are warning that you definitely need snow chains. These are not my pics but from another forum where I am again.... 'part of the furniture' It's now down to a chilly 7.7 outside... and 21.5 inside, at 8-30pm Nice n warm... Trev..

Hi willow. Re your question... "Do you have drains in the roads? " Well the answer is Yes and No. It is very uncommon to see a grid in the gutter as they are in the UK (see pic) There seems to be practically no drains under the streets to have gullies take the water to. But having said that, where water is running freely down the streets they very often put a whole row of gullies ACCROSS the street (see 2nd pic). But I realise the rainwater that goes into these must drain to somewhere, but I don't know where. Just to recap. Generally there are no pipes for rainwater to get away. Nor is there Mains sewer drainage in the Paphos area. There is one good thing they do here that UK could copy. Where the gullies are across the road and traffic drives over them, they lay them on strips of rubber inner tube to stop any rattle or noise. Good idea in my opinion. Bye for now. Trev..

Hi All. The web site is quiet at the moment, so I Just thought that I would bring my thread up to date with the things that I have done in the last couple of days (without pictures) Well a major thing for me, I have booked a flight back to the good old UK next June. My wife Hilary is also having a visit in April. We are visiting separately because we don't feel confident in leaving her Dad who lives with us. So for almost a couple of weeks in June I will be missing from the forum as I will 'be amongst you' so to speak. I will be visiting all my old haunts and places of work and will be staying with our daughter just outside Carnforth. The return flight cost about £220-00 so not too dear. The next thing I had to do was to hire a car. I have done that today using 1car1 from Manchester. It was almost as dear as the flights at £184-00. But it was the cheapest quote that I could find. So, If you see somone who looks like me in the middle 2 weeks of June, Tap me on the shoulder and say the magic words....... Would you like to come for a drink Trev ;D. The answer would be... And the third booking we have made We booked for Sunday lunch in a Paphos pub. The lunch is only two choices, either roast chicken or roast beef with all the trimmings. This is followed by apple crumble with custard. You may think 'not much choice' and I agree..... But the offer is 'buy one get one free' So TWO lunches and sweets for...... £UK 9-50. That seems a good deal to me. Take care in the cold. Trev.
