we can't have you two photographers catching your death of cold. One trouble is that the forecast for Sunday is rain. I wish that the AIS was able to cover inside Heysham harbour. Occasionally it does with freak radio conditions. Here is a pic of the boat that is helping out. Regards. Trev..

Wow Trev, the view from your house never ceases to amaze me I will join the Morecambe Bay Web outing if I can get the garage cleared out in time. I reckon there will be many craft brought out for the lift. It is a complicated thing to do so there will be many experts hired for the job. Maybe experts is the wrong term, as the guys doing this sort of work usually know what they are doing. I would think that TV and radio will be there too - Should I wear a suit? Hey Dave - How are you with a burger van?

There's usually a Burger Bar located at Half Moon Bay at the weekend but don't rely on it.

Hi all. I see that the Mersey Mammoth now seems to be on her way to Heysham. She is out of the Mersey and the destination is not shown. In fact it is still showing 'moored'. I would have thought that it was travelling today for a lift attempt tomorrow. But I have NO satellite camera, and I am just guessing. Cheers. Trev..

Cheers Trev.
I have just been talking to a friend that says the walkway from the south quay to the south roundhead via the power sation intakes was unlocked yesterday.

Just as a matter of interest it would appear that a CW pipe to the engine was the cause of the sinking although I stress that this is not official so take it with a pinch of salt.

Hi guy's, Yep she's on her way I've just rang Port Control and they have NO idea of an ETA it's a bit of a pain when they don't set there AIS properly. I'll probably take a look this aft but going by here present location it will take quite a while at 4knts. Then it looks like another trip up tomorrow about dinner time when it's low water hopefully for the lift. I've got my thermals on and my waterproofs but I haven't got an anchor chain for the camera Ian

It will arrive well after dark so photographs will be no good except from the South roundhead. As for when they will lift it, I suppose it depends on what they are going to do with it once it is lifted. - Lift it, pump the water out and hope it floats. - Lift it right out of the water and put it on the quayside. - Put it onto a barge. If there is only a small leak, they may just weld/rivet a plate over the hole. This may have already been done if divers have been working on it. Low water is at 1500 and if they are only lifting it onto the surface or a barge, they could do it any time. If they are lifting out onto the side, it would be easier at high water. Meanwhile, the MM keeps on plodding and should be visible from Blackpool at the moment.

I have been trying register with Blackpool Web in the hope of getting someone to get a piccy of MM as she passes them but their registration procedure takes ages as each new registration has to be approved by a Mod.
It will take a while, 4 knots is just a bit faster than walking pace I think.
