Miss Clarkenbaum here, library assistant, spinster and Morecambeophile. I feel naked without my avatar, so I've attached it here instead. I have a respectable gentleman friend who lives in Morecambe, and I tend to spend about three days a week here. It's sad to see how it has declined as a resort. I remember the old swimming baths and illuminations. It seems everything is being knocked down and turned into car parks and supermarkets. Perhaps the new Town Council will help. Looking forward to meeting you all on the board. Attachments:

Good Morning miss C. When I first saw that you were a library assistant I thought you meant at Morecambe. But I see now that it is elsewhere and that you spend a few days at a time in Morecambe. I too remember all the places that you have mentioned and many more besides. Yes it is a shame that so many attractions have 'gone', but I suppose it is the way of the world. People became more affluent and could go abroad for holidays and almost guaranteed sunshine. Things are changing all the time and Morecambe is trying to make a comeback, with at least some degree of success. Welcome to the forum and I hope to see more posts from you soon. By the way... Why not put your Avatar in the correct place. You can make it less than 100 x 100 here www.resizepic.com/ But make sure you keep it to the same ratio. Best wishes. Trev..

Hello Miss Clarkenbaum.
I'm also a non-resident of the town who longs to live there. Unfortunately I can only afford to spend a week there once a year.
I'll become a resident one day! : )

By the way... Why not put your Avatar in the correct place. . Thanks for the welcome, Trev. I couldn't find a way to upload my avatar from 'My Pictures' except by entering the url address, which I don't have.

I couldn't find a way to upload my avatar from 'My Pictures' except by entering the url address, which I don't have. Well let's see if we can help you.... Here is your resized picture... 75 x 100 And this should be the URL i636.photobucket.com/albums/uu84/trevnhil/MORECAMBE%20AREA/th_library-75x100.jpgHighlight the above URL. Use Ctrl + C to cut it out. And then Ctrl + V to paste it in the right place. Good luck. Trev..

It's worked! Thank you very much for that, Trev.
It wouldn't let me cut or copy the link itself, so I clicked on it and did it from there (hadn't heard of Photobucket before).
I feel so much more normal now. Thank you.

[ Meh. Normality is so overrated. Oooh, I don't know. I need an occasional episode of normality for light relief.
