There is a debate raging at the moment about bonuses awarded to bank people.

Just heard this.

The new act is an opportunity to claw back money if the bank's fortunes deteriorate

Is it just me who believes this is not a bonus but a salary?
In my world -
'BONUS ' = Something you receive for creating something extra'

Doing your job does not automatically entitle you to a bonus.

The world has gone bleeding mad!!!!!!!!!!

When I worked in a bank we got a bonus if we'd done well and if we hadn't we didn't. The bonus was a reward for hard work put in by the people who actually got the bonus. How the heck they can justify getting a reward for abysmal failure is beyond me.
