I'm one of those who don't live there but for me the attraction of Morecambe has always been the view across the bay. I just love being anywhere beside the sea but I don't know of anywhere which can rival Morecambe with that fantastic view. The scene changes in different light and different weather and diffrent times of day so it is never boring to look at.
Then there is the lovely prospect of walking along the prom to Heysham or heading off in the opposite direction up to Hest Bank and Carnforth, or venturing further afield and having a day out in the Lake District.

It is a great place to live and work. We do a lot of walking and there are many different options on our doorstep. Long stretches of coastline both North and South which can be walked at most states of the tide although the area north of Morecambe Hest Bank can be interesting if the sea is very rough. We don't usually set off walking in those conditions anyway, unless we are away on holiday . There are many inland walks too, each one steeped in history and providing a nature lesson.

Good Morning Mr and Mrs Musky.
Well done on getting everything in place for the big move in October. I know it is a stressful time but at least it is not a long way away and the journey I suppose will only be around an hour. Lancaster traffic permitting. My wife and I in Cyprus wish you all the best in your move, and we will keep our fingers crossed for a nice fine day for you.
With regard to anything else you need to do apart from tablets, injections, passports and visas..... The only thing I can think of is the Keefy moving day tax (Cash only please) which he will no doubt tell you about when he sees this post.
Good luck. Trev..

Good morning Mr and Mrs Musky. I am glad that you are now moved in and a little settled. I bet you are glad to be connected to the world again via the Internet.
I hope that you will enjoy living in the Morecambe area. It will probably be a little better as spring comes along.
Best Wishes. Trev..

Thanks for the welcomes, yes the weather has been dire but it's not a problem (because we are living the dream ) but like Trev says Spring will be a different picture. The prom is 5 mins walk from the house and we try to take a strool every day with the dog (who thinks she is on holiday and loving it)

We live a five minute walk from the prom too (Bare). Every day, I take my dog up to Heysham. It's a good place to let your dog off up there (no restrictions). It's really lovely.

A bit late but welcome to the seaside Mr & Mrs Musky. I get to Heysam occasionally but spend most of my time local to the Broadway end of Morecambe. We will have to meet up at some point, when it is convenient for everyone. Are we beer drinkers, tea drinkers, meal merchants or just simply walkers? Even when it is blowing a gale and raining there is still pleasure to be had from a bracing walk on the prom. I am over 5 minutes from the promenade but I suffer in relative silence.

Congratulations Musky and Mrs Musky on finally achieving your dream. Lucky old dog enjoying a permanent holiday now and loving those walks.
Thanks for the photos Keith, nice to see the beach is still in place despite the horrendous winds.
