Hi I'm Dave a sand grown'un, born in Lord St near Poulton Square and have lived in Morecambe or Heysham all my life. I run my own website showing our walks in the NW of England and it also as a Local Section with plenty of pictures of the local area. If you want to take a look the link is here; www.wainwright-wanderings.co.uk/I have been told it is ok to post it. Some recent news.....Work started on Monday on the building of the ne RNLI station near the Stone Jetty. Regards, Dave

Hello Dave, welcome to Morecambe-Bayweb. You have some brilliant photos there on your website. I'm sure people will enjoy looking at them. I particularly love the wintery ones with snow on the Lakeland Fells.

Hello kidstypike Welcome to what we hope will be the definitive guide to Morecambe and surrounding areas of natural beauty.
The pics are unfamiliar but very welcome to this site.
After all the planning permission issues with the RNLI station - I am glad to see some progress but why not combine all the RNLI rescue services together?
Unfortunately I have only common sense and not enough A levels.

Many thanks to all of you for your welcomes. I have to admit that I also am the manager of a group on MSN called ILOVEMORECAMBE. Like a lot of groups set up with initial enthuiasm it's posting rate as sadly declined. I intend later today to put a notice on the message boards to the effect that members may wish to transfer here. I was at Half Moon Bay yesterday evening at sunset for one of Morecambes glorious sunsets which hopefully will go on the website shortly. Regards, Dave

Thanks Dave. My original reason behind setting up this forum was simply that I had searched for one online in the hope of 'chatting' to locals about the goings on in the Morecambe Bay area, but despite googling my socks off I couldn't find anything. We both love the place so much and pop up there as often as possible but half the time we only discover that something was on when it's all over and done with! Having been a member of other local online community forums in Lancashire for several years I just assumed that there would be an active Morecambe one too and was dismayed not to find one. Hopefully we won't just share information about what's on at the Dome etc but can have a bit more insight into such serious topics as the efficiency (or lack thereof) of the bin men and where the most irritating road works are - stuff that wouldn't make Granada Reports ;D We've got some little posters going up in shops and trying to get a mention anywhere we can so that hopefully more people will join us.
