Good Evening Keith, and all.
I have had this building in mind for a long while but of I was not able to take a picture of it until recently.
All I will say at the moment is that it lies between the sea and the river Lune. And Heysham village and Morecambe golf club,
I too would not recognise the building to the right. But obviously it is there behind the 1900 one.
Cheers, Trev..

Hi Dave. No, sorry its not there. But I suppose that the buildings are of a similar age.
Maybe I was a bit wild with extending the boundaries. It's nowhere near the river Lune. I just wanted to say that it is in the borough of Morecambe and Heysham.
Cheers. Trev..

It's on Heysham road Opposite the Doctors at the Battery,
From what I've been told it used to be a booking office for the old MHTD, Morecambe and Heysham Tram Dept, and it used to have MHTD across the top but it looks as though it's been removed.
The info was supplied by a pall of mine who is into "Transport" and knows a lot about the Old Morecambe.

WELL DONE IAN. Brilliant deduction Ian. Full marks to you no matter who you asked for guidance. I was told that it was the inspectors office, where the staff on the trams reported to. In those days it would have been within the Heysham boundary, as the Battery slipway was the dividing line. Across the road from that small building and behind the pharmacy, was a large building that was one of the tram depots. Another one being on Lancaster road, where Netto is now. I only wish I could award you a prize Ian, sorry Cheers. Trev

Hi Trev, You can by me a pint next time we meet 1st Tram tracks laid 1887 and were ripped up or covered over from 1926.. Horse drawn 1887-1912, bet the gardens did well ;D ;D ;D Petrol drawn 1912-1926, I think that you will also find that the Doctors was the Old Terminus before they extended tracks to Heysham. And that the Old Bus depot site was the tram workshop, the reason I say this is that during site clearance for the new Housing estate they were digging up laid tracks Tram tracks and a guy spent days cutting them up. And you may want to have a look at this slide show on youtube?? www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZGjcfeRpKg&feature=relatedB+W movie 1902 ( in the Movie you can see the Old ship breakers yard at the stone Jetty in the background) www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyZu6ZoD5Os&feature=relatedIan

Hi Ian. Yes I have seen the links before but it may be that other members have not. I had not heard about the old bus depot having been a Tram depot. I suppose finding rails in there would support that theory, but I would like to delv into that a little more. Here is a plan showing the tram depot near the Battery. Trev..

I found it interesting that there seems to have been a windmill behind the Battery. Were there any more in the Morecambe area and what were they used for, does anyone know?

At the moment even with the help of 'google' I can only confirm that there was one there, but not what it was used for. Trev..
