What a tremendous and usual night on Carnforth Station platform. The Swing Commanders were tremendous as they entertained a sell out crowd to music and song from the 40's. I don't remember it live but my father used to play it all the time. Music from Glenn Miller and the Andrews sisters had some of the audience up and dancing. The trains passed through with bemused passengers - they missed the fun.
Add to this a sandwich supper and the price of £11 was worth every penny.

Sounds like an excellent night. I remember a couple of years back when the Light and Water festival was still in force in Morecambe, there was a 40s day with a Swing band like the Glenn Miller sound. Unfortunately I can't remember what they were called but I think they were all RAF personnel. What a great setting for such an event though, Carnforth Station now restored to all its previous glory.
