I used to have some old black and white photos taken round there from when I was in my teens. I haven't a clue where they are now. Wish I could find them.

Ok, you guys are in luck!
I built a Frontierland site a few years ago (it was riding on the back of another website I had). I didn't have dedicated domain name for the site....it was simply http://www.********.co.uk/frontierland.htm
Anyway, you'll all be pleased to know that I am currently re-building the site WITH a dedicated domian name!
I have just purchased a domain and hosting in the past hour, so it will take 24/48 hours for the new domain to become live. The new domain for the site is: http://www.frontierland_remembered.co.uk
Keep an eye open. I'm currently 1/4 way through building the new site and as soon as it's finished it will be uploaded in its entirity.
I have loads of photo's, some from my family and some from other people out there who sent me their photo's when I had the old site up and running. I also invite ANY of you to send me a mail with your memories of Frontierland or Morecambe Pleasure Park. You can include anything you want....your first ride on the Cyclone, your first snog on the ghost train. Which rides do you remember? Please send your mail with your memories to mark@2waymedia.co.uk Please also send as many photo's as you can. I will add your photo's and your memories to the new website.
We also have photo's of the funfair which used to be at the back of Woolworths too!
See you soon at http://www.frontierland_remembered.co.uk
All the best,
Mark (Leeds)

I grew up on the Winter Gardens fairground. My Family had joints and rides on there from its very beginnings right up till it was rearranged in the early 70`s. My grandfather was a traveller who became a 'flattie', settling in Morecambe when my father was born.
I have a lot of photo's including some very early ones. I did once upload them all to a MSN group related to Morecambe, but that appears to be long gone.

I look forward to seeing the site when up and running Mark. I have lots of fond memories of both fairgrounds.
Ron, are you any relation to the woman who has/had the candy floss/bucket and spade shop in the outside wall of the bowling alley?

Hmmmm - If it`s the joint I think you mean, it was a burger bar until last season, run by Shane who is one of the O'Conners, if my memory serves me. Did she sell buckets and spades? I don't remember.
Jimmy O'Connor, her grandad, had stalls and rides on the Winter Gardens fairground. He had the gobbits (clowns) behind Littlewoods, the Gallopers, and several other small rides including the helter skelter. He bought the clowns from my grandad, and possibly the gallopers also. No relation to me tho.
That burger bar was taken over last year and converted into a sort of American Diner. I 'think' it belongs to Johnnie's Entertainments, but I`m not sure.

Ok guys, I typed in the WRONG web address...dughhh!! Try this for size. The site is now fully up and running, let me have your thoughts and feedback etc please. Please use the "contact us" page on the website as I don't get onto this forum that often. I'm still making slight adjustments to the new site, but nothing serious. I suggest you go and get yourself a drink and make yourselves comfortable before clicking on the following link.....you WILL be there some time!! lol Ok, here you are www.frontierland-remembered.co.ukSee you there, Mark.
