We had a walk to Carnforth along the coastal path and called here on the way back along the canal. Excellent real ale, afternoon tea and comfy seats - what more could we ask for?

Hi Keith. We've been in there as well. We lived in Crag Bank road for 6 months and used to walk along the canal bank. As you say, a nice place with nice food and drink.
Cheers. Trev..

There's a great little cafe at the bottom of Hest Bank near the railroad crossing run by a young couple. My sister Carole works there a couple of days a week and says the food is fantastic. Sausage, mixed grill. that kind of food with pots of tea. Jean in Florida Let me know if youtry it.

Well Jean, I thought I could give that Hest Bank cafe a try when I am over in June. But then I saw.... Sausages, and Mixed Grill and thought about Cholesterol. What I need to do is find some healthy eating places in the morecambe area. But of course Healthy is not usually as good as Eggs and Bacon. Cheers. Trev..

My daughter objected to the green mash at the Canal Turn. It looked a bit 'off' to her - it had been mashed with mint.

Objected to minted mash Try putting blue food colouring in the mash if you want to put someone off eating it. Our afternoon tea was superb and very welcome after the disappointment of Carnforth Station. Interesting photographic journey Keith. We have never managed that coastal walk from Carnforth to Morecambe (or vice versa) either.
I know what you mean about the worrying proximity of the sea to those houses but I can't help liking the views and that one with the half round tower shape on the front is very appealing.

I wonder if the Hest Bank cafe, or the Canal turn do pork chops like this.. This is a typical size at some Taverna's in Cyprus. Mmmmm Trev..

That looks more like a gammon steak than a chop.
