Hi Ian. Yes I have read this report in another English paper this weekend. It is said that it works OK in some other countries. Well, I don't see it working in the UK. There are enough complaints especially from the elderly that they have difficulty putting there bins out at the kerbside. How are they going to manage to take their rubbish down the street to the bin about 10 houses away. If they manage to get the bags there..... have you seen the height to get them in the top. And this comment in the paper made me smile.... "One comment is: "We have this system in southern Spain and it works perfectly. The communal street bins are emptied at least once a day and in the towns water tankers go round hosing down the streets and wash out the rubbish bins too. We are told not to put rush out before 10pm which is sensible especially in the summer." So can you see them being emptied once a day ;D And then the water tanker hosing the area down?? I thought not. Oh!! ad do't put rubbish in before 10 at night. Where do they put them on streets with double yellow lines. We will see what happens with the trial. But the TAXPAYERS will not be happy. NON taxpayer. Trev..

If it happens here I can just imagine where they will put the ones we'll have to use and I cannot imagine elderly people being able to take their rubbish that far. Hosing the area down? The bin men here don't even pick up the rubbish they drop!
