I am hobbling around the house in pain today. After we'd all gone to bed last night I noticed a glow coming from downstairs and realised that the light had been left on in the crib in the hallway. My first mistake was to creep down to switch it off. My second mistake was not to turn the light on in the stairs/hall. My third mistake was missing my footing on the bottom step and landing with my left leg bent! Somehow I managed to get back upstairs. I even managed to switch off the offending crib light. This morning however my leg hurts more than it did last night and I can only hobble around the house with the aid of a stick. I was supposed to be going to have my nails done today but no way can I manage to get there. I'm also supposed to be going to the doctors on Thursday and a funeral on Friday. I hope it gets better by then. I've also got loads of last minute Christmassy type stuff to do but shall have to sit here watching TV or reading or waffling on the internet instead.

Willow!! what are you like. You are not safe to be left on your own. First you drawers collapse ;D and then you do as well. I would imagine that you are in quite a lot of pain now that the bruising will be appearing.
I hope that you improve soon, and I wish you a speedy recovery.
Best wishes. Trev..

I'm a walking disaster Trev - well a hobbling one at the moment!
I don't think Coachman ever told you about me getting trapped in a loo in Blackpool did he? ;D
Yes it is rather painful but I'm hoping it won't be like this too long. I shall be wrapping it in a comfrey poultice tonight when I go to bed.

Some people are not fit to be out on their own but it is a sad state of affairs when you can't be trusted in your own home. It seems so easy just to nip downstairs without the light on, I do it all the time. I will put a light on in future on the grounds of safety.
Mrs Keef is suffering at the moment too, she had a bump in the car on bonfire night and has been suffering with whiplash ever since. The bump was only minor, thank God, but it has done some damage which is taking a long time to heal. She is unable to work and so is here 24/7 with me. It is nice in one way but she is bored as she cannot do the jobs she wants to do. I will get round to putting the trimmings up at some point, a job she normally enjoys doing apart from the high stuff. When that will be is anybody's guess.

You need to get going a bit sharpish Keith. ;D It's Christmas next week! Mind you we still don't have the wreath on the door.
I hope your Mrs is feeling better soon. Whiplash can be nasty. And she has my sympathy - it's so frustrating not to be able to do the things you are always used to being able to do. Even a couple of days here with a gammy leg is driving me up the wall.

6 weeks at home is a bit much for me too My plan for a particular Christmas present has had to be shelved as I have not had enough time on my own to make it. I see people with their trees and trimmings up at the end of November. They have too much time on their hands and need to get a hobby.
