Hi
My name's Jean and my husband Robert and I live on Albert Road, near Regent Park. I work full time for Lancashire County Council in Preston and am also a part-time holistic therapist doing Reiki, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage. We both enjoy reading, eating out when we can afford it (or can't be bothered to cook) and going to the theatre. We don't possess a TV but do watch some programmes that are interesting by downloading them from BBC iplayer and catch up sites.
I like cats, don't like dogs much. We both enjoy good food (hence the entry for the Curry Leaf) and neither of us drink.
We both enjoy listening to music. Steve Harley is my favourite, although I am partial to Take That (Mark and Howard are my favourites). We both play brass instruments (Robert has been a mean bass player in his heyday and has played with some of the best but can play the euphonium and baritone very well - I play the trombone but not very well I admit) and we run a music education charity called Red Rose Youth which teaches children (and adults) to play instruments for free!
We have two children, both grown up. One is married and we have a baby grand-daughter called Isabelle.

Hello Jean. Welcome to you and to Robert as well. With working in Preston you will not get much spare time after work and travelling. And the spare time that you do have seems to be filled with all sorts of activities. Well now you have just added another one to your list. It is interesting that you live in Morecambe as you should have some good knowledge with the picture quizzes. Have a look at Quick Quiz 18 and 19. in 'Fun and Games'
I hope that you will join in with the Banter and the fun.
Best wishes . Trev..

Hello Jean. You sound to be interested in lots of things that interest me too, especially the aromatherapy. I have only ever had an Indian head massage once when on holiday in Tunisia and it was wonderful. I don't know anyone local to me who does it though. I also love music but am master of no particular instrument and just dabble a bit with loads. Look forward to hearing from you here on the BayWeb.

Welcome to the Bayweb Jean - Perhaps when the urge takes you, you might like to tell us all about the Red Rose Youth (in its own thread) I find it interesting that opportunities are out there for children and adults to learn to play instruments through your charity, if only we were closer to Morecambe, Willow and I would be in the queue for tuition even though she plays a mean Djembe ;D
