The Citizen officially closes Jan 7th but we might not see another one drop through our doors. The title is closing so no Citizen newspapers anywhere but such as the Westmorland Gazzette will keep going.

That is a shame about the Citizen. Mainly I suppose because it will probably mean job losses. I used to like reading it every week, although it tended to have the same main news as the Visitor. It was good for the classified though.

We haven't had a Citizen for ages either. It's a shame. It was a good idea, financed by the advertising but it seems the delivery 'boys' have not all been reliable and yet they were paid for delivering. We used to get periodic calls asking if we'd had our delivery but that hasn't happened for a long time either.
