Around teatime last night there was apparently traffic chaos in Lancaster following the collapse of the old Warehouse ex-nightclub on North Road. From what I can gather up to now, the roof fell in causing internal floors to collapse.
Although the building is no longer in use it was feared that there could have been people trapped inside (squatters?) so two rescue dogs were called to the scene along with three fire appliances, one with an aerial ladder.
The road was closed off and nearby flats and businesses were evacuated as a precaution. At one stage there were traffic tail backs as far as the M6!

Thankfully no-one was inside the building and no-one in the area was injured. People were allowed back to their homes and fire crews left the area around 10:30pm.

I had been telling my hubby about the time I was in Morecombe when the Moby Dick and Hotel was hit by lightening and burnt down. My parents, sister and myself had just come off the Moby Dick when lightening stuck
