............ mean only one train from Morecambe to Lancaster between 8 am and 9 am.
And yet they expect people to use public transport? How do they expect everyone to fit in one measly little train?

They blame it on the West Coast main line being at near full capacity. How would they cope if a lot more people decided to follow general advice and use their over priced service?

Maybe the fight is not over. These are the headlines today Thurs: 4th Dec: ...... Train row hots up
Published Date: 04 December 2008 THE row over plans to change 'rush hour' train times between Morecambe and Lancaster has now reached Parliament. Geraldine Smith MP has told the Secretary of State for Transport about Northern Rail's proposals to change their timetable as of December 14. At the moment, trains depart from Morecambe to Lancaster at 8.05am and 8.33am. From December 14, this will change to 8.11am and 8.51am.
Commuters who rely on the current service to get to work for 9am are up in arms at the changes.
Geoff Hoon MP, the Secretary of State, is now expected to meet with Morecambe's MP to discuss the problem.

The 8.51 train isn't going to be much use to people who are trying to get to work in Lancaster for 9am so they are all going to be crowding onto the earlier one aren't they?
