Hi Ian. Welcome to this new forum. I am glad that you joined up. We have another photographer on board as well. He was the one taking pics a Heysham harbour yesterday. You never know, you may know Dave already.
I look forward to your posts on here.
Best wishes. Trev..

Welcome Ian, maybe this would be a good place to ask with so many photographers on board.
I am thinking of buyring a DSLR and have about £500 to spend, what should I buy?

Have a trip to Wilkinsons camera shop (not the general goods shop ) in Lancaster, the guy there is very knowledgable and offers good advice. I went to see him and he ended up advising me to buy a particular camera online. He did himself out of a sale but his honesty and attitude should be advertised. They had a choice of a few about the £300 mark but after you have added the extras, I am sure £500 will be nearer the actual spend figure.

I have a Cannon EOS but that may be because I've always had Cannon cameras right back to the old F1.

Sand Grown'Un now residing and teaching in Florida. Home last Summer and loved the updates to the Prom. Watched the sunsets from Williamsons Park most nights as the view is awesome from up there. Weekly walked from Heysham to Happy Mount Park and never tired of it. Took me back to when I lived in Pedder Street as a child and played those same routes every evening until the sun went down. Gulf Breezeian, Florida.

Hi odom. Welcome from me to the Morecambe Bay Website. Like you I am living in a different time scale but not as many hours as you.
I hope you enjoy the happy banter on here and hope that you may contribute some good posts.
Have a try at the differences in the two photos. Only one answer per person per day.
Have a good day. Trev..

Thanks everyone for the welcome. It has been Thanksgiving Day Holidays around here so no work for a couple of days. Have been getting gifts ready to parcel off to Morecambe for Christmas and get out in the mail this morning. I think you guys are 6 hours ahead of me so I am turning the light out as you are about to turn it on. Jean Odom. PS. It's warm and sunny here. Believe it or not I do miss the change of seasons. We have a brief show of fall leaves and very mild Winters. The pictures on the web you have posted are beautiful.
