I am driving myself crazy trying to create a website! Nothing seems to be co-operating I realise it's probably me and not the inanimate little objects I am attempting to deal with but it is very frustrating. I eventually hope to stun you with the results - but don't hold your breath!

One of my brothers does web sites as a business so if you can get one going then maybe you can go into competition with my bro .

I think it'll be a long time before I'm going into competition with anybody! ;D I do want to master this though and get beyond just using the freebie templates online. I have loads of ideas but it's being able to put them into practice where I come unstuck. I got halfway into creating a site for a line dancing club and then I forgot what I was doing!
I was going to do a college course in the evenings in Burnley which I was told about by a friend but when we went to enquire about enrolling it was all a bit vague and woolly and on top of that it would have cost £170 so with the possibility of it not actually being any use to me I thought it might end up being a waste of money.
They wanted me to sign a form too saying that I'd been assessed for suitability by the college and as I hadn't I didn't really fancy signing that.

;D I suppose I'd get on quicker if I didn't have so many other things to do - and before any one else says it - didn't go haring off up to Grange for a 'Prom Art' arts and crafts thing that isn't on until next Sunday!

Hello there. I have built two web sites for my business's and use an American company called homestead. www.homestead.com The software is very easy to use and you can make your web site quite plain or very indepth if you want. I got my domains free to and it only costs me around £8.00 a month. If you want to take a look at my sites go to www.number1homecareservices.com or www.doddies.net and you will see what you can do. The Doddies one took me half and hour to do lol ! Plus if you need a hand I can always give you guidance! Mike

I used a programme called Microsoft Frontpage to build my website. Once I had sufficient on it I got a name and got the site "hosted" by a company called Streamline. It cost me around £70.00 for two years with unlimited webspace which I need for all the pictures which are on it. www.wainwright-wanderings.co.uk/Dave

Thanks for the information. I will have a look at those things tomorrow Mike. I would get on a lot better if I had more time to just sit and concentrate on one thing but I flit in and out of the house and even when I'm at home I'm flitting in and out of the room doing other things rather than just sitting down and getting on with it. I've also been playing about with the message board features (and then end up leaving things as they are!).
I don't just want to do something with existing templates. I have been trying to create something totally original and I think sometimes my ideas get the better of me. For example someone says to me "line dancing website" and immediately I'm thinking of American red barn with sliding doors which open to reveal information and a creaking old windmill in the background. ;D See what I mean? I get too carried away. I've managed to get that far but now I'm stuck..
I've looked at your website previously Dave and I think it's excellent.
