How could I possibly resist taking the camera down onto the promenade. I waited for high tide before taking my daily walk. Yes it was windy and it made walking and keeping the camera dry, very difficult but the results were well worth it. I started with Eric and he is looking as shiny as ever. I considered going up onto the Yacht Club platform but common sense prevailed. I have never seen it this rough but I have only been here for a decade. We are well out of the way stood next to Eric and several other people had the same idea of taking photos from here. The promenade was taking a pounding to the East and the boats were being thrown around It was just as wild round the back of the band arena I didn't go all the way round as the waves were fairly crashing over. I retraced my steps and approached across the old band arena, that was a real struggle walking into the wind there The Hovercraft station's seaward wall was being properly tested. The waves kept setting off the alarm. Despite the flood boards being in place, there were the usual idiots who are immune to waves and wind. Made for a dramatic picture though. The Stone Jetty Café was taking a bit of a pounding too all in all a very enjoyable walk indeed.

Hi Keith. Thanks for taking all the picture and risking life and limb in doing so. I have seen other pictures of the tide this afternoon but yours are the best I have seen. There has also been a video posted showing the devastation at V V V at Hest Bank. I find it hard to believe that despite all the warnings the place remained open and people were inside with their cars parked on the foreshore. Crazy people in my estimation. Here is the video.... www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10201890809404746&set=vb.1018996261&type=2&theaterCheers. Trev..
