We have been touring round the Hebrides for the last few weeks and a bit but are now back with tales of rugged landscapes, dolphins, sea eagles, seals and a shortage of culinary delights.
The story just needs writing now!
Into the darkened room I go - wish me luck

Good Morning Keith. I am glad to see that your Holiday went well, and that now you have it all documented you will be able to don your DIY clothing.
I have started to follow your adventures but not wanting to rush through the photos, I am only in the 60's so have a lot to look through yet.
It is a long long while since I was at Oban and your pictures brought back a few memories.
I will look in again at some more pictures in a little while.
Cheers. Trev..

No rush Trev I usually take about 600 pictures during a week's holiday but this time, 19 days and 2500 pictures as well as some videos. Mrs. Keef took nearly 1000 so they took a lot of sorting out.

I'm still going through them, and enjoying them and the written commentary. I have only just found how to get back to the middle of them without going all through them. Alter the number in the URL.

Well after probably more weeks than it took to take the photos, I have at last viewed all 660 of them.
They were certainly worth taking my time over, and also to read all the captions that you had carefully written.
To my mind it was a shame that you did not have the best of weather for every day of your trip. But considering the area that you were in, then you didn't do too bad really.
Thank you for taking the time to sort and post all the pictures. I know that they are of course on your own website, and I just hope that there are a number of people that will be looking in to enjoy them
Tho only place on your travels that I have been too is Oban, and that was many many moons ago on a holiday with a church group.
It is evident that Mrs Keefy and perhaps yourself spent many long hours researching your trip. And it seems like the effort was well worth while.
Like you I was surprised at some of the buildings that were cafes or hostelries. Some of them just looked like a normal house. Thankfully you also frequented some hostelries that were steeped in history as well.
I know that you will have enjoyed your holiday, and I certainly know that I have enjoyed sharing some of it as well
Many thanks, to you both. Trev..

Thanks Trev It was a holiday which we will both remember for a long time. We did originally plan to do it by public transport and had we gone down that route, I think we may have had a different opinion of the islands as we would have been unable to explore much. There is public transport but it is only for getting people to and from the ferries.
I was getting bored with all the driving as I would much rather be out walking among all that scenery. The wild flower meadows (machairs) were fantastic especially as we were there during nesting season. The birds were very quick to let you know if you were too close to their nests and you had to be very careful where you walked.
We did see a few buzzards close up but they are off like a shot when they see a camera. The sea eagles are interesting but I don't really count a small dot high in the sky as a siting.

That was wonderful,I really enjoyed your journey & spent far too long enjoying it instead of working! Loved all the sheep especially the Black Hebrideans! I was lucky enough to go to Stornaway on a quick trip connected with weaving & managed to time it so that I could visit the standing stones at Callanish for Summer Solstice. I envy the amount of time you were able to spend there. Thanks for sharing!
