Cyprus may be suffering severe austerity measures but they are not alone in their suffering. Our politicians too, are imposing their unreasonable decisions on the general public. The plague I refer to is the appearance of many of these throughout the Morecambe area. This is obviously a knee jerk reaction to the European speed sign mountain but I think imposing 20mph speed limits is only encouraging dozy folk to wander in the road at will. This becomes a problem when the same dozy folk go wandering next to a fast main road and get knocked down. The money would be better spent filling the pot holes in..

I have noticed some of these signs as I have travelled about on the roof of a street View car. Many of the images of Morecambe have been updated to 2012.
I have even seen a new white UPVC front door.... a distant view of some flagging bordered by a very nice tanalised fence .

What about the pebble dashing, the new garage door frame, the bald trees out the back, the car, the pink towels drying in the big window and the dodgy character lurking in the small upstairs window?
I have been searching for the photo I took of the Google car going back down the street, I will post it if I find it. I just wish I could remember the date I took it, that would help a lot.

Can you spot the irony of this picture? There are 20mph signs all over the place now but outside the school, where a lower speed limit could arguably be justified, the speed limit is still 30mph - who are these decision makers?

I've been there a few times. 7 years at MGS and I used to work at The Broadway. Been there a few times as a customer, too

Yes I agree, if they are placing 20 MPH limits, outside a school would seem to be one of the most sensible places. Another strange thing to me (but not evident on the picture) is the decision as to where the double yellow lines are. They have them all around the Broadway / Dallam avenue junction, and rightly so. But when you get to the first entrance to the school, you can park right up to the gateway goo.gl/maps/yVu0h But not across from the gateway though. Trev..

I'm sorry, I missed this post. And I also missed the pebble-dashing and the lurker in the window. I'm getting too easy going in my old age. Trev..
