I notice Morecambe won their first league game for some time at The Globe Arena on Tuesday night.
Attendances have been dwindling, and in an effort to cut costs, the away terrace is only opened when there is an expectation of a decent away following.
On Tuesday, Chesterfield were the visitors. The away terrace was closed, and fans were expected to sit in the stands.
Price for the terrace is £15, and for the stands £19.
As the terrace was closed through no fault of the visiting supporters, you'd have thought that they would have been allowed into the stands for £15 instead of the usual £19.
Out of the 1200-odd 'crowd', about 200 were from Chesterfield.
So as well as cutting costs, Morecambe FC have found an easy way of making extra money out of visiting supporters.
Reading the Chesterfield fans discussion forum there are a fair few unhappy folk, who won't be bothering to visit The Globe again. Who can blame them!
Poor show Morecambe! it won't be long before The Globe is renamed The Morgue!!

Shrimps suffered a 'double', away at Fleetwood yesterday (Boxing Day). Not very happy on the 'Shrimpsvoices' forum. Could Morecambe's flirt with the Football League be coming to an end?
