So, finally we went to Glasgow. We went to see Jeff Dunham at the Armadillo but stayed a few more days to see the sights. What a great place. The humour is second to none Some fabulous views The architecture is spectacular Opportunities to be arty farty Stunning old buildings Even the hospital is dramatic The tombs tell a story We chose a great place to stay Up 4 flights of stairs The Necropolis across the way was well worth a visit offering some photo opportunities and a cathedral with a copper roof and some stunning architecture There is a lot of stuff to explore and if you don't mind walking - Glasgow is the place to do it.

Maybe you will change your signature now to 'Glasgow - there is plenty to do'. Because there certainly is. My daughter lives there and I have been a good number of times but still not seen very much. I also used to deliver wagons to Glasgow but had no time to stop and stare. I also love the 'Clockwork Orange.' which is the underground.
I am glad that you enjoyed your time there Keith.

Never toched the underground - too busy admiring the surface.

In the mid-70s I was based at the Clyde Submarine Base. Every other Friday afternoon for 3 years I'd get the train from Helensburgh to Glasgow Queen's Street, then leg it across the centre to Glasgow Central for the train to Lancaster. And I'd do it in the other direction on the Sunday evening. Never saw much of Glasgow, other than the streets between the stations, but I remember it was always raining.

Good morning Keith. Many thanks for all the photos of your break in Glasgow. I have always know it to be a very interesting city with plenty to do there. I have been many time but have only seen a very small fraction of the things that you have.
I really enjoyed looking at all the pictures. I have not been to the new Riverside museum, but I recognise many of the exhibits from the old Kelvin Hall transport museum.
The indigestion tablet remark was noted, as was the picture ( 77 I think) where you took your life in your hands and lay flat on the roof of the bus. Crazy man, crazy.
Traveling by train was a good option for you, as the two hour plus road journey can be a bit tiresome, especially after Hamilton at the Glasgow end.
Thanks again. Trev..
