Hi there everyone, my name is Adrian and I was born in Morecambe . I went to school in Lancaster and then spent many years in the forces, so got to travel around quite extensively, it was quite a novelty for me to read the "visitor" in the middle of a jungle in the far east or in an igloo in the arctic circle...(my parents sent it to me every week!) I now live and work locally and stumbled upon this site quite by accident, I think it is great I can honestly say that we are truly blessed with the magnificent views over the bay and that Morecambe and the surrounding area is a lovely part of the world!!!

Hello Adrian, welcome to Bayweb Quite amazing to imagine the Visitor in the middle of a far eastern jungle or in the frozen northern wastes. That's a well travelled newspaper! I can certainly understand your wish to keep in touch with the goings on at home when you were so far away.

Hi Adrian, Welcome to the bayweb ;D The forum in still in its infancy but has already highlighted the fact that the Morecambe bay area seems to hold a little bit of magic to all those that have lived or visited there.

Hi Adrian. I was in the Armed Forces too, for 23 years. Senior Service I'm afraid, so I didn't do too many jungles, unless on a run ashore of course, when disorientation also set in. My old man used to send me the Lancaster Guardian when I was on HMS HERMES during the Falklands Campaign in 1982. He was always one for giving useful advice, like how best to abandon ship and avoid oil slicks! I really enjoyed getting his letters!!
