I've decided to shut down the MorecambeLife web site. Nothing too serious happened but it was the last straw after years of random hassle with various web sites. A press release was published about spam and unfortunately a company named in the press release was an innocent victim. That led to the usual legal threats from the company.
In the past I've been involved in many complaints about messages on sites I host but not necessarily messages I've typed myself. Everyone from individuals to the police to electoral officers have been in touch to have messages removed or details about the author(s).
A quick fix to the latest legal threat would have been to remove the article and post an apology (copied from the authors of the original press release). After removing the article and copying the apology, I thought about it a bit more and decided it was time to give up hosting sites for other people or using information I thought I could rely on to be accurate.
I'll stick to just my personal blog where I'm solely responsible for the awful things I say about you all.

I had been telling my hubby about the time I was in Morecombe when the Moby Dick and Hotel was hit by lightening and burnt down. My parents, sister and myself had just come off the Moby Dick when lightening stuck
