Museum could be lit up by end of year. LANCASTER City Museum could be lit up at night by the end of the year as part of a £7.7m scheme to give open spaces in the city centre a face lift. www.lancasterguardian.co.uk/news/lancaster-and-district-news/museum_could_be_lit_up_by_end_of_year_1_3646628Now I know this is Lancaster but it is all coming out of the council tax which includes Morecambe and surrounding areas. I could not believe this when I read it. Your council are to spend £7.7 on making open spaces look better. As you will read this includes floodlighting a city square. I suppose the cast of the electricity and repairing any vandalism will come out of your funds as well. Maybe someone should tell the council that we are in a crisis situation, where some councils are turning off street lights at night. Trev..

The street lights may go out but the vandals will be able to see the reassuring glow of The Williamson Memorial as they terrorise Morecambe. Meanwhile, all the Councillors are concerned with is illuminating Cloud Cuckoo Land.
as Fraser would say, "We are doomed, doomed I tellye!".

Has nobody told them we are all supposed to be using less power to combat global warming/cooling/wetting or whatever?
