Walk Date: 13th July 2011 Walk Area: Lake District
AW in describing the walk up Gummer’s How in his Outlying Fells of Lakeland book says…. “The time comes to every Lakeland Fellwalker, in due course, when he has good reason to give thanks to Gummer’s How for salvaging his pride. Here is a fellwalk in miniature, a little beauty, with heather, a few rocks to scramble on, soft couches for repose, a classic view and a rustic Ordnance column --- just like the real thing; and all so easy of access from a motor road and attainable almost without effort.” I don’t think anything I can write will add to that other than to say that the walk as per normal was finished off with a visit to the NT’s Fell Foot Park on the shores of Windermere. Pictures from the day are now available to view on the website for those wishing to do so. Regards, Dave

Breath-taking views and photography kidskypike, never heard of Gummers Brow but to help me with my bearings, does the third photo show the Aquarium on Windermere?

Gummer's How overlooks Windermere at the south end of the lake and yes it would be Lake Side with the boats, train and aquarium that you can see. Dave
