Just found the accounts to March 2010 online, it appears that they had £155,664.04 of our money still in the bank at the end of the last financial year. After all the effort (and cost) to get a local council in place, they've provided us with some PCSOs and the Tutti Frutti Festival. Surely these could all have been discussed and dealt with by Lancaster City Council? www.morecambe.gov.uk/docs_committees/index.php?dir=Finance%20and%20Management/2010/Accounts&by=date&order=asc&by=date&order=ascYou need to grab the documents available quickly, taken from the Nov 18th finance minutes: Following concerns raised by members of the public at the council meeting held on 18th November This matter was discussed by members of the Finance & Management committee, after which it was agreed that the acting clerk makes arrangements to temporally suspend the site by posting a suitable message so that anyone who tries to access the site will be made aware of the situation. So what little we had is about to disappear. More wasted money, thanks MTC.

In 2009/10, MCC gave us a festival and funded PCSOs. That cost £46,400.
In addition to that £46, 400 spend, other expenditure came to £18,467.20
That means every pound spent on investment in Morecambe by MCC cost Morecambe Council Tax Payers an additional 39.8 pence.
Or to put it another way, they have invested 21% of the money they collected from us in the town which cost us an additional 10% to manage. 70% of the precept collected in 2009/10 was still in the bank in April 2010.
Is that a good use of our money?
Over the holidays I'll see if I can work out a few other parish precept costs.

I am confused, is this the same MTC which would not cost local people any more money?
They obtained a 'Website Out Of A Box' from a bunch of Southern Template Peddlers and expected it to work as if by magic. When it didn't work they took the decision to take it down, although it would appear that even that is beyond them.
How about getting someone local to get it up and running, like they should have done in the first place?
