I was looking at the Budgie Transport website with the view to taking a trip along the Lancaster Canal and it made me wonder if anyone runs boat trips out on to the bay itself. I can't find anything with the aid of Google, but if anyone would know, it's the good people of Morecambe Bay-Web. The usual promise of a cuppa/pint stands!

There were trips round the bay in the 1960's using an ex fishing boat. The captain's dog would jump off the end of the stone jetty and swim after the boat. There were earlier boat trips, too : www.simplonpc.co.uk/NorthWestUK.html and trips from Heysham to IoM were common. The Duke Of Lancaster www.dukeoflancaster.net was used for a while. Hmmm... It doesn't look like they'd be able to get her re-floated in the next 3 weeks. ;D
Oh well... Thanks everyone. Looks like I'll have to be content with the view of the bay from the canal at Hest Bank!

I'm trying to remember where I saw the DoL as in the 2nd photo. Fairly sure it was on our way on holiday somewhere, possibly somewhere between Liverpool and Phwelli?
