We went to breakfast at a restaurant where the 'seniors' special' was two eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast for £1.99.
'Sounds good,' my wife said. 'But I don't want the eggs.'
'Then, I'll have to charge you £3.50 because you're ordering a la carte,' the waitress warned her.
'You mean I'd have to pay for not taking the eggs?' my wife asked incredulously.
'YES!!' stated the waitress.
'I'll take the special then.' my wife said.
'How do you want your eggs?' the waitress asked.
'Raw and in the shell,' my wife replied.
She took the two eggs home.

This amused me as well accykeef. If it's true it would be interesting to know where this "senior special" was at. Cheers. Trev..

;D You reminded me of something a few years ago when I was in a sweet shop. The woman in front of me wanted two 2oz bags of dolly mixtures for her children. The shop assistant said she could not serve less than a quarter of any of the sweets. The customer pointed out that two lots of 2oz was a quarter but the shop assistant didn't seem to grasp that. So the customer asked for a quarter of dolly mixtures and an extra paper bag. Then the assistant said "Would you like me to share them out between the bags?"

Perfectly illustrating how people find it impossible to think for themselves these days.

When I lived in San Diego 30 years ago. A Scottish friend and I had the same experience with the 4 ounces of sweets issue. We would go every week to a different person behind the counter. Talk about block heads. We would come out laughing but absolutely astounded. Jean Odom
