The site is just about stable i.e. I'm not going to mess with it too much more. Not sure I like the colours and the page images will be replaced as soon as I get out with the camera. Its based on Wordpress, a very flexible blogging tool which has plenty of add-ons. So if there's anything you think the site should have, take a look at the following pages and let me know. Or if you like the look of an alternative theme, the look & feel can be changed as often as required without losing the content. Nice one Brian. As you can probably gather from the colour scheme here I'm rather fond of shades of blue but that is purely personal preference. I like the news page, should keep us better informed than the council website.
Is it ready for a link to be put on our homepage here?

Please do, even the council have found it and have asked if I want press releases. I've just answered yes to that.
A few of you have already registered on the site, those I recognise have been made contributors i.e. you can post news to the site. I've also added an events system to which you can contribute. Not sure if this should stay though with Ron's Beside The Seaside site. The aim is not to detract from any good work already being done but to promote it. Also to promote specific sites for specific functions and not have the same function spread across multiple sites. Hmm, I think I've just argued with myself to remove the events system.

;D I know what you mean. I originally intended to post as many what's ons a I could find out about but makes more sense to direct people to Ron's already existing and very comprehensive list. What I think we need here is a better way of pointing people there. I shall work on it (between the ironing etc )

The council have now added one of my email addresses to their press release list and I've published the latest ones they have sent.

Slowly getting there. Events gone but link to Ron's site added. News page, an RSS feed, working fine so added a similar Jobs page, also based on RSS feeds.
Lancaster City Council providing relevant press releases which I've added as main entries.
