Just found your forum and decided to join.
I'm from sunny Accrington but have been coming to Morecambe for hols and long weekends for a few years now and I love the place and the area round about.
Just been back for a few days and had a great time. One of the reasons for being there was to look into the possibility of opening a business there. Anyone know what the area needs? Also, does anyone know what happened to the Chorizo Tapas place on the junction of Skipton St and the front?
Thanks for being here and I'll keep you posted on the venture.

Hello Accston and welcome to Morecambe-BayWeb. Coachman and I are also from sunny Accrington (been a bit warm today hasn't it?) and dream of eventually moving up to Morecambe. We'd also wondered about what kind of business would go down well - I know what I'd like to do but not sure it would be profitable. Keef has already managed to 'emmigrate' from Accy to Morecambe.

Welcome to the Bayweb Accston. Re Chorizo Tapas: The business was for sale the last time we went past so there may be an opening there for you. I have never seen the place open so I cannot comment on the place.
As for what business Morecambe needs, that is a poser. There is an argument for a large well run entertainment venue to attract some top line acts as we only have a couple of small potential Council cut backs to attract people.

Hi Accston. Welcome to the Forum. Don't forget that if you are free there is a 'Meet Up' in Morecambe a week on Thursday evening. I think the time and venue are yet to be decided. I may see you there.
Regards. Trev..

Hi Again,
Thanks for the warm welcome.
I'm not sure that my resources would stretch to a large entertainment venue but we did contribute to the Winter Gardens fund a couple of years ago via the business I have in good old Accy, but they don't seem to have got much further with that. I thought that once the Midland re-opened, work would progress but it seems to be not so.
I spoke to the lady who set up Chorizo this morning and she says she doesn't have the time to oversee it as she has other businesses in the North West - one of which is the Costa coffee franchise further along the fornt in Morecambe. Seems a genuine enough reason so I'm looking into it further. I would have to change it to a more coffee shop / restaurant type place though as I know nothing about Tapas. Anyone think Morecambe needs such a place?
As for the meet up, I'm sorry I won't be able to make it but I hope you all have a great evening.
Thanks again.
