Slightly cheeky title to show off my second grandson briansheldon.smugmug.com/ZacharyAnd for the photographers, it's a new (to me) photo site with much better controls than any software I've found to install on my own web server.

Thanks. It's a good indication of how times have significantly changed. First of all, a camera in the maternity ward never mind the delivery room. I've got at most maybe a few hundred photos of me from birth through to twenties. I took 20 of Zachary before he was a few hours old and there'll be lots more today when he meets his great grandparents.
I'm not sure if I'd be happy, when I reached 18, to be presented with an Encyclopedia Brian containing my life story in detail. I didn't grow up with it so maybe he'll grow up thinking it very strange that there's so few photos of his grandad.
We recently printed a book from some holiday photos and it made us realise how little we looked at online photos but the book is on the coffee table and picked up nearly daily. Hmm, When he turns 18 I can see us presenting him with Encyclopedia Zachary :-)

Congratulations for second time around Brian. Things have certainly moved on with photographs, I used to return from hoilday clutching 1 maybe 2 x 36 exposure films which were deposited in the shop and collected the following day. The envelope was always opened with some excitement in aticipation of what could be in there. Nowadays, I return from holiday with 2 SD cards full of pictures and the 1000+ photos are downloaded onto the computer in the time it takes to unload the car.
Speaking of coffee tables, we too have loads of photos which just sit in albums, the plan is to put a selection of them into a glass topped coffee table for all to see. The best part about that is they can be changed for a new batch at any time.

I've seen fridges used nicely for photos, Boots often dump magnetic clear plastic envelopes after Christmas so you can pick up a handful for a few pound. I've also seen a hallway completely covered in photos, looks better than it sounds. I have a steel wire hanging by the stairs with 15 tiny magnets holding photos against the cable. Print my own pics on a Canon portable printer and change them when I want.
I thought with the digital revolution that printed photos would be a thing of the past but I just find that I print more photos now and they're better quality because you can afford to take hundreds now and choose the best rather than risk wasting a second shot on the roll.
