I took almost 100 photos, but most of them look terrible. These are a few of the good'uns... Taken from The Helm in Oxenholme. The "bleached" look in the sky in the top right is pretty much how all of my pictures from the week came out. I'm sure there's a setting on my camera to sort it out, but I'll be jiggered if I can find it. My friend Fliss was getting married in the monument as the photo was taken. It looks a bit grey, but the weather held off and she had sunshine on her special day. Lancaster castle clock. I just can't keep away from the things! I was hoping to make it to Caton Moor, but cancelled buses and my lack of patience put the kibosh on that so I had to make do with this one of the Walney Island array, taken from the Stone Jetty. And finally... ...sunset over Black Combe.

Hi Bondee. Thanks for sharing your pictures with us. In particular I loved the Sunset one. By the way the title on the third one should read 'Clock on Lancaster Priory'. It is next to the castle.
I would be interested in seeing more pics of your jaunts in the area if you could spare the time. Those shown are very good.
Regards. Trev..

The sunset is fantastic, you just have to be there at the right time. The bleached look is due to the exposure time being long. If you shorten the exposure time, the sky looks great but the scenery in the foreground becomes a sillouette. Strangely, the sky is always bluer on photos taken looking West than they are when taken looking East. It is something to do with refraction of the light but I can't give you a full explanation.
