Safer than an old fashioned, conventional Paddling Pool which used to be on this site. This looks like great fun. The water shoots out of different pipes and tubes in all directions, including this giant pipe which sends out a huge waterfall. There's one whch looks a bit like a Loch Ness Monster. Maybe it's the Morecambe Bay Monster.

Some of the water jets shoot up unexpectedly when you least expect them which causes squeals of laughter from the children. Buckets fill up and tip over at irregular intervals. The surface is like a soft play area so if children fall over they do not get hurt, and the water drains away immediately so there is no water for them to accidentally fall into.

Well I didn't on that occasion but I can imagine if you weren't aware of where some of them came from and were moving in for a good shot of one of the others it could take you by surprise!
There's a nice new water feature in the West End gardens too now where the water just spurts up out of the pathway. I can imagine that taking some unsuspecting visitor by surprise. ;D There's one at the beginning of Sandylands prom too, I like them better than the conventional fountain with a pool of water at the base. Children just seem to love running through these.
