Hi to Willow and family. I hope that the weather there is an improvement on the UK rain.
Have you tried the Mac frogs legs burgers yet.
Re... "Alas, I am now running out of battery power. Message to self, remember to bring a back up." You must pedal faster on the tandem, but don't let the onions fall off ;D
Have a good time. Trev..

Back again with a brief access to t'interweb and a recharged battery! We have just been to church in Limoges - entirely in French which was quite fun for les deux Anglais!
The reason we are in this region is that a couple of years ago some friends of ours from Accrington emmigrated to France and live near Limoges. Their daughter has been over in England visiting us and now we have come over here bringing her back. We rented a gite (can't find the little tin hat to put on top of the 'i') in the heart of the countryside about 30-40 miles north of Limoges and have had a week of glorious weather so far.
Yesterday we had Em's birthday party (far too much food but the local cochons are doing well out of us) and invited our English French friends over then the girls went back with them so Coachman and I have a few days to ourselves.
The gite is on a small farm (hence the cochons) and our closest neighbours are a small flock of geese and some very cheeky hens which come into our front garden looking for quelque chose a manger.
As I said the weather has been glorious - until yesterday evening when the two of us went down to the lake where they were having a reggae evening outdoors by the lakeside --- until the Heavens opened and it poured down! Don't tell me we have brought Lancashire weather to France! Au secours!
It has brightened up a bit now though so hopefully we'll get a bit more sun.

Hi Willow and Coachman.
I am glad that you all enjoying your well earned holidays. And what a difference good weather makes doesn't it. Sorry about the shower though but it will freshen things up a bit. We have just had a quick thunderstorm here, but summer sun again now.
I hope you have found the camera, and remembered where the spare batteries are. I am looking forward to seeing plenty of pictures when you return.
Have a good time. Trev..

Hi all. First off I don't want you members to worry. As a retired person with a laptop connected to the end of one arm, I am constantly scanning the news online on behalf of you all. If I do see any reports of a family trying to get into the country on the pretext that they are from Accy: then you will be the first to know. I am also on the lookout for reports of large quantities of wine being brought in. So.... Rest easy in your beds tonight. Trev..

What is happening in my part of France ......... It is peak summer. The area is full of foreigners clogging up car parks, supermarkets, roads and stealing our sunshine. It is also village fete time. Here, we have cowboys demonstrating their skills : and trainee bullfighters doing their stuff : Time for cold beers in the shade ? Peter

Hi Peter. Your pictures are really good and impart to us a little of what life is like there. However the fact the Holidaymakers steal your sunshine is a serious matter. I have alerted all the Police and the customs authorities at all Southern England ports. If Willow and family are guilty of this heinous crime be sure that they will be found out. However they may realise the error of their ways and declare the sunshine, in which case it may just be confiscated from them. It will then serve them right if there is non when they get back to Accy Law abiding Trev.. or you could say 'Grass'

Well the weather did improve again after the storm. We didn't quite make it up to 36C though. It only got as far as 35! I think we managed to pack a small amount of sunshine to bring back with us but it must have been the cooler type because as we drove up north to come back to the ferry we could see the temperature gauge dropping! We travelled up England during the night and now in the glorious sunshine of an English Sunday morning we are home and it feels fair chilly! I want to be back in France sunning myself by one of the numerous lacs! Most of the photos are loaded onto the petit laptop and I'll be plonking some on here as the week goes on.

Well the last six of the last twenty five post seem to say that you are back on good old Accy soil. I hope that you all enjoyed yourselves and came back with a tan. Now stop messing about and get the washing machine going. ;D ;D Nice to have you back. Trev..

I've already got stuff drying! The girls are off again on Monday on a Church camp week thing so need all their stuff washed and ironed and ready to pack again by the end of today! I'm just looking at all the stuff we brought back with us and wondering where the heck we are going to put it all! Maybe it's time for a thorough sort out chez Whisp and get rid of stuff we definitely don't need. I keep wandering back and forth with things which I knew exactly where to put when we were in the gite and can't seem to find a home for here (like half a million citronella candles which didn't have the desired effect on the bugs anyway!)

Just leave all that 'Stuff' till later. Try and concentrate on the important things........ like photographs. Trev.. You may all be wondering why I have been so quiet since the holiday. The reason is that I am still waiting for my holiday snaps! Willow asked for me to d/load them onto her laptop on a daily basis which I did - but she won't let me have them back She wants me to promise not to mention the flypaper on the bayweb, I told her not to worry, it was the last thing on my mind "What flypaper?" I hear you ask! Well, it was when she was unlocking the back door and the ancient bolt fell out of the door. she bent down to pick it up off the floor ...........and at mid bend, placed her hair firmly in the clutches of the flypaper strip that was dangling by the door. It was quite hilarious actually as Willow couldn't stoop any lower but couldn't stand back up either as her hair would become more entangled. All she could do was to make some strange screaming sound. Anyway, I think thats the reason she won't give me my photos back, she doesn't trust me to keep quiet
