Sorry Ian but I am still not getting the layout. You are referring to how it was but I have no knowledge of that. 1 - The entrance from the car park, which is now the main entrance, where is that on the photos? 2 - The 4 steps, are they hidden now? 3 - Where was the screen from the entrance as it is now? 4- I assume the floor of the auditorium was sloping - was the floor levelled or have they covered it over?
I might just go in and ask some questions, Monday am. is a good time to go as they seem to be quiet then.

No Problem, Imagine if you can as you walk in Now you have walked Through Screen from the car park!! Pick 03624 is where you enter..
Pick 3636 shows a double door into foyer, Pick 3606 shows the steps up to the balcony the double doors are to your right.
So you walk in from the car park through screen and stage in pic 3624, then up the isle and through the double doors at the top of pic 3636, and the Stairs to the balcony pic 3606 were straight in front of you.
what you have to remember is that the screen\Stage is Now the Main Enterance to 1st Stop. And that the whole building has in fact Shrunk, all the Pannnels I presume will still be there as will the old toilets left and right as you go in through Screen, I think they have covered the step if not they will probably have ripped them out, Bout in that case how was that guy carrying that bath up those stairs. if memory serves me from last year you could see a screen from the side Vertical windows.
Just remember that YOU are entering Through the Screen and the staircase is in front of you.

Ian, I am a bit confused by that layout. The front of the old balcony runs from what is now the entrance from the car park towards the old foyer entrance on Euston Rd. Was the screen off to the right where the auditoium tapers?

Yes, When it was a cinema, The Screen was on the left as it shows in the picks, You have to imagine that you walked in through the Glass Windows\Doors into the foyer and either turned left into the Stalls or right up the Stairs into the Balcony. But TODAY You walk in through the screen and turn right to get to the Glass Windows. All they have done is Punched a Big hole in the wall in the carpark and taken the screen and stage out, If you look at any photo showing the Building it will show a row of Vertical windows which are boarded up they are on the side of the Building and to the right of your steps and In line with the Screen. So you are saying that the screen was where I have put the car park and entrance?
I thought the steps must be at the opposite end to the screen

The Screen was where you have written it, But you have to you remember have one Big wall so you drive park up and turn round facing the wall, then imagine being able to look through the bricks you would see the stairs and that vertical window on the side of the building in front of you. As you look at the building from York bridge You have the Glass windows\Original entrance, down the side towards the Police Station you have a Cream tiled wall that has the Boarded vertical window for the Staircase. As you turn left into the car park you pass a pair of Double doors (Emergency exits) in pick on the right hand side. you turn into car park and on your left is the Entrance to 1st stop and by that is another pair of Double doors ( which are the emergency exits to the left of the pick. You then walk Back up inside the store then turn right to head out through the windows as you are about to turn and head for the Windows the steps would be In front of you Ian
