You know the main thing that strikes me about that last batch of photos Peter, is that everything looks so clean. Then I look around here and it's so scruffy and depressing by comparison. It's making me long to be in France. Best to keep an eye on the pavement for dog turds. They are an ongoing problem, despite the use of these : Local discussion : the-languedoc-page.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5934Peter

Trev .............
Somewhere I've got a file of Cyprus pics. You've also got lots of stuff to see, but in a smaller area.
I visited quite a few ancient ruins and later, roman, remains around the island.
In February there was skiing in the mountains, but bananas growing by the coast. Your winters are warmer than ours.
I also liked Malta

That Pont du Gard aqueduct is amazing. How the heck did the Romans manage to build things like that? You certainly have some spectacular scenery Peter. Thank you for keep sharing the photos.

Some more : Lavoir, Salinelles The water was raised by donkeys walking in a circle driving what looks like 20 saucepans on a cartwheel. Chapel St Julien, Montredon. This village was destroyed and never rebuilt - the church remains. the-languedoc-page.com/images/temp241.jpgSomething a bit different - the google satellite view of my village. Probably taken end April because the vine growth is not well developed and many pools still have a winter cover (very dark blue or green). Towards the top left you can see the church and village square surrounded by the old walled medieval village. The old village is built on the top of a hill and the land falls away to the South East where newer houses have been built. Just to the south of the village (and further South) are the remains of old olive groves still showing a very regular pattern. To the far South East are the closest of the vineyards. The paler shape by the house is an area where the vines have been pulled up. Count the pools ! Views of the church and village from the vines : Peter

I would rather watch the Kite Festival than watch some bullies, trying to take a small bull to ground. Now if it was the bull's Dad, then it would be more interesting.

These little bulls are not so little : the-languedoc-page.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6115Same thing happens every year. A distinct lack of health and safety ? Peter
