I wonder how many of the people posting here actually know (or knew !) each other. Most of us hide behind pseudonyms for good reasons.
However, this could be a way round it. If each of us gives some anonymous info about themselves, old colleagues could make a private contact through the message system.
I will start :
Schools : Lancaster Rd Primary 1959 to 1963 Morecambe Grammar School 1963 to 1970
Jobs : Ells newsagents Browns grocers Barry's cafe Broadway Hotel
Addresses : Fairlea Ave Elms Rd Yealand Conyers
Date of leaving the area : 1973

I only know people having met them through BayWeb, being just a visitor to Morecambe. I never realised you'd lived on Crag Bank Rd though Trev. Must have passed your old house many times when we stayed at Marsh House Farm in our caravan.

We lived at number 10 on the RHS on the one way stretch nearest the A6. We rented there for about 6 months, after we sold in Bolton le Sands, and until we moved to Cyprus.. And here are the houses that I have lived in.... Trev..

Morning Peter. I can see what you mean, and there is another one on there twice. I used 'Picasa' to create a collage, and I took the easy option when I composed it. ie just pressed the 'automatic' button.
I only put these houses on as we are no longer there now, so non of them have any current connection with me.
Cheers. Trev..

I can see some likely connections, although you are a bit older than I am :
John Jump - I had a paper round at Ells Oak Ave - was on the paper round Bolton le Sands and Carnforth - I knew many people from school and because I used the Carnforth bus en route to Yealand.

Hi Peter. Re my early life in Bare. I must have started work for Jumps around 58/59. They were building down Oak Ave: Taylor grove area. They had a workshop down Oak avenue, next to what is now Hillingdon's. Oak avenue was unmade then, as were the streets we were building on. They also had an office and a workshop in Bare lane next to the institute. Cliff Wilman was a workshop joiner there. I remember Parrs bakery and the chip shop half way up the street. There was also I think a blacksmith's on the left going uphill. I lived in Heysham then and used to Cycle to work first of all, but then had a large Maicoletta scooter.
Happy days. Trev..

That's the picture of my scooter !!!! ...... electric starter of course. One year we went to the German factory to see where they were made. There were a group of about 10 of us and we stayed for about a week. As I say.. Great times. Trev.. There must be other's on here who were brought up in Morecambe. Maybe they are not on too often.

Brought up in Accrington and came to live in Morecambe in 2003 so when it comes to Morecambe history - I don't have any. I have never been to most of the pubs in Morecambe and I only remember seeing the super swimming stadium on the telly. My Grandad spoke of staying in West End Road, walking to Heysham before breakfast and still having change from sixpence after staying in relative luxury for 4 weeks every August but he may have been showing off his position as Bonny Inn, Salesbury, 'Worlds Greatest Liar' winner 1864. I can remember when Morecambe had Illuminations and Happy Mount Park was a good place to visit, am I accepted an an honourary Morcambrian then?

The only person I new from there was a tall guy called William (Bill) Bell who lived at Middleton. He was one of the firemen there and also a keen walker. Unfortunately he died of a heart attack when in middle age. Trev..
