 Tea Hut ??
« Thread Started on May 1, 2009, 9:08pm »

Hi All. Been up to Morecambe the past two weekends and called into Heysham Village to find the tea hut closed, does anyone know why ? I like a brew here, it's the one on the coastal path.

That hut has been closed for quite a while now sadly.

If you follow the road around to The Barrows (Half Moon Bay), there is a new tea hut there called The Zoo Cafe. I have no idea what it is like, but the chap always seems to do a good business.

He even has his own web page now.

You learn summat new every day. Thanks esm. I didn't know about the Zoo Cafe.

He can't have been there long because he wasn't there when I was here last September.

I'll be heading down to Heysham tomorrow. Might buy Sunday lunch from him, if you can call a cheeseburger Sunday lunch!

The Tea Hut was open today! Seemed to be doing a roaring trade!

And the cheese burger from Zoo Cafe was very good! The owner is a thoroughly good chap too! Very friendly and more than happy to impart some local knowledge, directions, advice, etc.

I'll be going there again in future!

Maybe that's where it was used when he bought it complete with the Zebra stripes. It saved him repainting it, and it certainly seems to have a good reputation.

It's a good job it wasn't an ex Army trailer with camouflage paint. Customers would never have found it. ;D ;D

What a shame Ian. It says on the website that he is open from 8-30am and 10-00am on a Sunday. Maybe some unforeseen circumstances prevented him opening.

Regards. Trev..
